1Kings 11, Solomon turns his heart!

1Ki 11:4, For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David.

Deu 17:17, NEITHER SHALL HE MULTIPLY WIVES FOR HIMSELF, LEST HIS HEART TURN AWAY..

AS WITH ALL MANKIND; SOLOMON PROVED HIMSELF A SINNER AND HAS TURNED FROM FOLLOWING THE LORD!

1Ki 11:5-6, For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. SOLOMON DID EVIL IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, AND DID NOT FULLY FOLLOW THE LORD, AS DID HIS FATHER DAVID.

FOR ALL HIS WISDOM HE BECAME FOOLISH FOLLOWING OTHER, SO CALLED, GODS!

Pro 3:7, Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 

Isa 46:9-10, … For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH! HE KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING! SEEK AND OBEY HIM WHO IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!

Pro 3:5-6, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

1Kings 10, Wisdom & Glory of the KING!

1Ki 10:6-7, Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land ABOUT YOUR WORDS AND YOUR WISDOM. However I did not believe the words UNTIL I CAME AND SAW WITH MY OWN EYES; and indeed the half was not told me. YOUR WISDOM AND PROSPERITY EXCEED THE FAME OF WHICH I HEARD.

The queen of Sheba came from a long way to see and hear Solomon’s wisdom, and she was truly amazed at his wisdom! YET, the true KING is coming with a greater wisdom!

Mat 12:42, … for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE

1Ki 10:27, THE KING MADE SILVER AS COMMON IN JERUSALEM AS STONES…

Solomon had great wealth, YET THE TRUE KING WILL MAKE SOLOMON’S RICHES AND GLORY LOOK SHABBY IN COMPARISON!

Rev 21:21, The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

THE KING IS COMING AND HE SHALL BE KING OF ALL THE EARTH, NOT JUST JERUSALEM!

Zec 14:9, And the LORD shall be King over all the earth… 

Isa 11:2-4, The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And HE SHALL NOT JUDGE BY THE SIGHT OF HIS EYES, NOR DECIDE BY THE HEARING OF HIS EARS; BUT WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS!

1Kings 9, the LORD appears to Solomon!

1Ki 9:3, And the LORD said to him: “I HAVE HEARD YOUR PRAYER AND YOUR SUPPLICATION THAT YOU HAVE MADE BEFORE ME; I have consecrated this house which you have built TO PUT MY NAME THERE FOREVER, AND MY EYES AND MY HEART WILL BE THERE PERPETUALLY. 

It’s amazing to think that the creator of heaven and earth can hear our prayers! THE PRAYER OF THE UPRIGHT IS HIS DELIGHT Pro 15:8!

Deu 11:12, a land for which the LORD your God cares; THE EYES OF THE LORD YOUR GOD ARE ALWAYS ON IT, FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE VERY END OF THE YEAR. 

1Ki 9:6-7, BUT IF you or your sons at all TURN FROM FOLLOWING ME, AND DO NOT KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS AND MY STATUTES WHICH I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU, BUT GO AND SERVE OTHER GODS AND WORSHIP THEM, THEN I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; AND THIS HOUSE which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. ISRAEL WILL BE A PROVERB AND A BYWORD AMONG ALL PEOPLES.

IT’S A CHOICE GIVEN TO SOLOMON AND A CHOICE GIVEN TO US; TO FOLLOW THE LORD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS! BUT A BACKSLIDER ONLY HARMS HIMSELF!

Jer 2:19, YOUR OWN WICKEDNESS WILL CORRECT YOU, AND YOUR BACKSLIDINGS WILL REBUKE YOU. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing That you have forsaken the LORD your God, And the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord GOD of hosts. 

THE LORD WANTS TO USE US TO DRAW MORE PEOPLE TOWARDS HIMSELF ONLY IF WE ARE FAITHFUL TO HIM! KEEP WATCH OVER YOUR OWN HEART!

1Kings 8, Dedicating the Temple, Prayer!

1Ki 8:41-42, “Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country FOR YOUR NAME’S SAKE (FOR THEY WILL HEAR OF YOUR GREAT NAME AND YOUR STRONG HAND AND YOUR OUTSTRETCHED ARM), WHEN HE COMES AND PRAYS TOWARD THIS TEMPLE,  

Praying towards the Temple of God which many still do today even though the Temple is no longer standing! Gentiles will come to Israel for we know that there is only one GOD

1Ki 8:43, hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and DO ACCORDING TO ALL FOR WHICH THE FOREIGNER CALLS TO YOU, that all peoples of the earth MAY KNOW YOUR NAME AND FEAR YOU, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is CALLED BY YOUR NAME.

Mal 1:11, …MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE GENTILES; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; FOR MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE NATIONS,” Says the LORD of hosts. 

1Ki 8:57, May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. MAY HE NOT LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US, 

HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US FOR THE GENTILES, WHO ONCE WALKED IN DARKNESS, HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT IN JESUS OUR LORD!

Isa 41:10, Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

1Kings 7, Jachin and Boaz, Pillars!

1Ki 7:1, But Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house…

Solomon built a Beautiful Temple for the LORD, and it took 7 years to complete; YET, his own home took him 13 years to build!  THIS SAYS A LOT ABOUT US! WE TEND TO CONSIDER OUR COMFORT, OUR HOMES MORE THAN WE DO THE HOUSE OF GOD!

Hag 1:4-5, “IS IT TIME FOR YOU YOURSELVES TO DWELL IN YOUR PANELED HOUSES, and this TEMPLE TO LIE IN RUINS?” Now therefore, THUS SAYS THE LORD OF HOSTS: “CONSIDER YOUR WAYS!

WHEN OUR FOCUS IS ON OUR COMFORT, HE HAS HIS WAYS TO GET OUR ATTENTION!

Hag 1:6, “You have sown much, and BRING IN LITTLE; You eat, BUT DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH; You drink, but you are NOT FILLED WITH DRINK; You clothe yourselves, but NO ONE IS WARM; And he who earns wages, EARNS WAGES TO PUT INTO A BAG WITH HOLES.

1Ki 7:21, THEN HE SET UP THE PILLARS BY THE VESTIBULE OF THE TEMPLE; he set up the pillar on the RIGHT AND CALLED ITS NAME JACHIN, and he set up the pillar on THE LEFT AND CALLED ITS NAME BOAZ. 

Jachin means “HE SHALL ESTABLISH” and Boaz means “IN HIM IS STRENGTH”! ONE DAY, BY HIS STRENGTH, HE WILL ESTABLISH HIS KINGDOM (2Sa 7:12), ON EARTH!

WE HAVE TO CONSIDER OUR WAYS; DO WE TEND TO FOCUS ON OUR COMFORT OR THE WORK OF GOD! HIS KINGDOM WILL COME WITH OR WITHOUT US! Mat 6:33, BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU.

1Kings 6, the beautiful Temple!

1Ki 6:11-12, THEN THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO SOLOMON, saying: “Concerning this temple which you are building, IF YOU WALK IN MY STATUTES, EXECUTE MY JUDGMENTS, KEEP ALL MY COMMANDMENTS, and WALK IN THEM, THEN I WILL PERFORM MY WORD WITH YOU, Which I spoke to your father David.

2Sa 7:13, HE SHALL BUILD A HOUSE FOR MY NAME, AND I WILL ESTABLISH THE THRONE OF HIS KINGDOM FOREVER.

THIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE THAT SOLOMON BUILT FOR THE LORD. COVERED WITH GOLD, TWO 15 FOOT GOLD COVERED CHERUBIM IN THE HOLY OF HOLIES, YET 5 YEARS AFTER THE DEATH OF SOLOMON THE TEMPLE WAS PLUNDERED 1Ki 14:25-27!

Psa 14:2-3, The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY WHO UNDERSTAND, WHO SEEK GOD. THEY HAVE ALL TURNED ASIDE, THEY HAVE TOGETHER BECOME CORRUPT; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, NO, NOT ONE.

We as humans tend to destroy all that is beautiful in the world!  The garden of Eden was removed because of our sins, The temple of God destroyed, and Even the PERFECT SON OF THE LIVING GOD WHO WENT AROUND DOING GOOD, TEACHING TRUTH, AND HEALING THE SICK; HE WAS TORTURED, SPAT UPON, HIS BEARD RIP OFF HIS FACE, AND CRUCIFIED!

Rom 7:24-25, O WRETCHED MAN THAT I AM! WHO WILL DELIVER ME FROM THIS BODY OF DEATH? I THANK GOD—THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!…

1Kings 5, Building the Temple of GOD!

1Ki 5:5, And behold, I propose to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, AS THE LORD SPOKE TO MY FATHER DAVID, SAYING, “YOUR SON, WHOM I WILL SET ON YOUR THRONE IN YOUR PLACE, HE SHALL BUILD THE HOUSE FOR MY NAME.” 

The LORD told David that his son Solomon would build the house for the LORD! JESUS, THE SON, IS ALSO BUILDING A SPIRITUAL HOUSE FOR THE FATHER! HE IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE AND WE ARE LIVING STONES!

1Pe 2:5, YOU ALSO, AS LIVING STONES, ARE BEING BUILT UP A SPIRITUAL HOUSE, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 

1Ki 5:17, AND THE KING COMMANDED THEM TO QUARRY LARGE STONES, COSTLY STONES, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple. 

THESE SPIRITUAL STONES COST THE LORD EVERYTHING FOR HE WAS CUT OFF FROM THE LAND OF THE LIVING BUT NOT FOR HIMSELF!

1Pe 2:6, Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHIEF CORNERSTONE, ELECT, PRECIOUS, AND HE WHO BELIEVES ON HIM WILL BY NO MEANS BE PUT TO SHAME.” 

SOLOMON BUILT A BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE FOR THE LORD WITH THE BEST MATERIALS! JESUS IS BUILDING HIS TEMPLE OUT OF PEOPLE WHO ONCE LIVED IN DARKNESS BUT WERE CALLED INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT! WE AREN’T WORTHY BUT HE IS! TRUST IN HIM!

1Kings 4, Wisdom of Solomon!

1Ki 4:21, 25, SO SOLOMON REIGNED OVER ALL KINGDOMS FROM the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life. …AND JUDAH AND ISRAEL DWELT SAFELY

In the days of Solomon there was great prosperity and peace! YET, ONE IS COMING WHO WILL BE GREATER THAN SOLOMON OR DAVID AND WILL BE KING OVER ALL!

Zec 14:9,11, AND THE LORD SHALL BE KING OVER ALL THE EARTH. In that day it shall be “The LORD is one,” And His name one. …The people shall dwell in it; AND NO LONGER SHALL THERE BE UTTER DESTRUCTION, BUT JERUSALEM SHALL BE SAFELY INHABITED. 

1Ki 4:34, AND MEN OF ALL NATIONS, FROM ALL THE KINGS OF THE EARTH WHO HAD HEARD OF HIS WISDOM, CAME TO HEAR THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON. 

Zec 8:22-23, Yes, MANY PEOPLES AND STRONG NATIONS SHALL COME TO SEEK THE LORD OF HOSTS IN JERUSALEM, And to pray before the LORD.’ “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

SOLOMON WAS WISE, YET WITH ALL HIS WISDOM TURNED FROM FOLLOWING THE LORD! 1Ki 11:1-8.  IN CHRIST WE ARE WISE!

1Co 1:30, But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption

1Kings 3, Solomon asked for wisdom!

1Ki 3:3, AND SOLOMON LOVED THE LORD, WALKING IN THE STATUTES OF HIS FATHER DAVID, EXCEPT that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.

We all have fallen short of the glory of GOD!

1Ki 3:5, At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and GOD SAID, “ASK! WHAT SHALL I GIVE YOU?” 

1Ki 3:9, Therefore give to Your servant an UNDERSTANDING HEART TO JUDGE YOUR PEOPLE, THAT I MAY DISCERN BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

1Ki 3:10, 12,13, The speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing…BEHOLD, I HAVE DONE ACCORDING TO YOUR WORDS; see, I HAVE GIVEN YOU A WISE AND UNDERSTANDING HEART… AND I HAVE ALSO GIVEN YOU WHAT YOU HAVE NOT ASKED: BOTH RICHES AND HONOR

The LORD did this for Solomon because he asked for wisdom to lead HIS people!

1Jn 5:14, Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, THAT IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARS US. 

Joh 15:7, IF YOU ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YOU WILL ASK WHAT YOU DESIRE, AND IT SHALL BE DONE FOR YOU. 

WHAT SHALL HE GIVE YOU? WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN ASKING FOR? ARE YOU IN HIS WORD, DOES HIS WORD ABIDE IN YOU? NOTHING WRONG WITH RICHES, BUT WISDOM IS BETTER THAN RUBBIES PRO 8:11!

1Kings 2, David’s advice to his son!

1Ki 2:2, “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.

Heb 9:27, AND AS IT IS APPOINTED FOR MEN TO DIE ONCE, but after this the JUDGMENT, 

1Ki 2:3, And KEEP THE CHARGE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD: to WALK IN HIS WAYS, to KEEP HIS STATUTES, HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS JUDGMENTS, and HIS TESTIMONIES, as it is written in the Law of Moses, THAT YOU MAY PROSPER IN ALL THAT YOU DO AND WHEREVER YOU TURN; 

David tells his son Solomon to WALK IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD AS IT IS WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES! THEN, YOU WILL PROSPER!

1Ki 2:4, that the LORD may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘IF YOUR SONS TAKE HEED TO THEIR WAY, TO WALK BEFORE ME IN TRUTH WITH ALL THEIR HEART AND WITH ALL THEIR SOUL,’ HE SAID, ‘YOU SHALL NOT LACK A MAN ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL.’ 

IT’S A PROMISE GOD MADE TO DAVID, THAT IF HIS SONS WERE TO WALK IN HIS WAYS THEN THEIR WILL ALWAYS BE A SON OF DAVID ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL!  WE HAVE A SIMILAR PROMISE OF GOD!

Mat 6:33, BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU. 

Pro 27:1, Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. 

LIVE FOR HIM TODAY AND SEEK HIM DAILY! HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST!
