Psalm 59, the LORD doesn’t sleep!

Psa 59:1-2, …Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Defend me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from bloodthirsty men.

Once again David was in danger for men lie in wait for his life, but he was warned by his wife, daughter of Saul 1Sa 19:11! David looked to GOD to save him from his enemies!

Psa 59:3-4, For look, they lie in wait for my life; The mighty gather against me, NOT FOR MY TRANSGRESSION NOR FOR MY SIN, O LORD. They run and prepare themselves THROUGH NO FAULT OF MINE. AWAKE TO HELP ME, AND BEHOLD!

It wasn’t anything that David did, but that Saul knew David would be king after him! In desperation David said “WAKE UP LORD AND SEE”?

Psa 121:3-4, He will not allow your foot to be moved; HE WHO KEEPS YOU WILL NOT SLUMBER. BEHOLD, HE WHO KEEPS ISRAEL SHALL NEITHER SLUMBER NOR SLEEP.

The LORD doesn’t sleep, but is always at work blessing HIS people and HIS nation Israel! HE keeps them safe day and night!

Isa 27:2-3, … “A vineyard of red wine! I, the LORD, keep it, I water it every moment; Lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day.

At times it may look like the LORD isn’t doing anything to help us, but that is just wrong! It’s in HIS perfect timing that HE will respond not ours! The LORD keeps his promises! WE LIVE BY FAITH!

Rom 1:17, For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” 

Psa 59:5, You therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah 

Today, so many people are worried about the Covid-19 Virus! But there is a plague coming soon on this world that will scare every single human being on this earth! HE WILL NOT BE MERCIFUL TO THOSE THAT FIGHT AGAINST HIS PEOPLE! THE LORD KEEPS HIS PROMISES!

Zec 14:12, And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: THEIR FLESH SHALL DISSOLVE WHILE THEY STAND ON THEIR FEET, THEIR EYES SHALL DISSOLVE IN THEIR SOCKETS, AND THEIR TONGUES SHALL DISSOLVE IN THEIR MOUTHS.

Psalm 50, GOD Speaks!

Psa 50:1, …, THE MIGHTY ONE, GOD THE LORD, HAS SPOKEN and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down.

Three names of GOD in the first verse! EL = Mighty GOD, GOD =Elohim, THE LORD = YEH-HO-VAW’! HE SPEAKS OUT OF ZION!

Psa 50:3, Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

THE LORD, GOD HAS COME TO JUDGE THE WORLD OUT OF JERUSALEM!

Psa 50:5-6, “GATHER MY SAINTS TOGETHER TO ME, THOSE WHO HAVE MADE A COVENANT WITH ME BY SACRIFICE.” LET THE HEAVENS DECLARE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR GOD HIMSELF IS JUDGE. SELAH

Judgement starts with HIS saints first (1Peter 4:17)! Believers, who placed their trust in the LORD JESUS, shall be judged according to their works! Their motives shall be tested by fire!  

Psa 50:8,12, I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me…. “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

THEY OFFERED SACRIFICES AS IF HE WERE HUNGRY FOR FOOD NOT BASED ON A REPENTANT HEART!

Psa 50:16-17, But to the wicked God says: “WHAT RIGHT HAVE YOU TO DECLARE MY STATUTES, OR TAKE MY COVENANT IN YOUR MOUTH, SEEING YOU HATE INSTRUCTION AND CAST MY WORDS BEHIND YOU?

The wicked refers to believers!

Psa 50:18-20, When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers. You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; …

THIS IS THE WAY OF THE WORLD, YET MANY BELIEVERS ACT THIS WAY! WE THINK BECAUSE HE KEEPS SILENT THAT WERE OK?

Psa 50:21, These things you have done, and I kept silent; YOU THOUGHT THAT I WAS ALTOGETHER LIKE YOU; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes. 

HE SEES ALL WE DO, HE ALSO SEES THE MOTIVES OF OUR HEARTS! IS IT BASED ON LOVE FOR HIM OR HONOR FOR OURSELVES? IF WE LOVE HIM, THEN WE MUST DO AS HE INSTRUCTED US TO DO!

Psalm 44, why are YOU so far off?

Psa 44:1, WE HAVE HEARD WITH OUR EARS, O GOD, OUR FATHERS HAVE TOLD US, THE DEEDS YOU DID IN THEIR DAYS, IN DAYS OF OLD

The psalmist remembers his father telling him about the works of GOD in their days! WE, AS FATHERS NEED TO DO THE SAME! TELL YOUR KIDS WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN YOUR LIFE!

Joe 1:3, TELL YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT IT, LET YOUR CHILDREN TELL THEIR CHILDREN, AND THEIR CHILDREN ANOTHER GENERATION.

Psa 44:3, 6 For they did not gain possession of the land BY THEIR OWN SWORD, Nor did their own arm save them; BUT IT WAS YOUR RIGHT HAND, YOUR ARM, AND THE LIGHT OF YOUR COUNTENANCE, BECAUSE YOU FAVORED THEM…. FOR I WILL NOT TRUST IN MY BOW, NOR SHALL MY SWORD SAVE ME

Israel did fight for the land, BUT VICTORY CAME BECAUSE OF THE LORD! IT WASN’T THEIR BOWS, THEIR MONEY, THEIR SWORDS, IT WAS THE LORD! NEVER TAKE CREDIT FOR THE WORK OF HIS HAND;

Psa 44:9, BUT YOU HAVE CAST US OFF AND PUT US TO SHAME, AND YOU DO NOT GO OUT WITH OUR ARMIES. 

From verses 9-11, the psalmist changes his focus. He remembered the stories of his father, but now it seems that GOD has drawn away from his people?

Jos 1:9, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD IS WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.” 

It wasn’t GOD that left, but the people who left HIM and stopped following HIS WORD! HE clearly stated what would happen if Israel drew away from HIM! Deu 28:15-68

Deu 28:15, “BUT IT SHALL COME TO PASS, IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD, to observe carefully all His commandments…THAT ALL THESE CURSES WILL COME UPON YOU AND OVERTAKE YOU: 

HE is a loving Father and is prepared to punish HIS children out of LOVE and never in anger!

Heb 12:6-7, FOR WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE CHASTENS, AND SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.” If you endure chastening, GOD DEALS WITH YOU AS WITH SONS; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

Psalm 37, The Wicked and the JUST!

Psa 37:3, Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 

It is because of the LORD that the land is able to provide food for all! YET we can also feed ourselves in the TRUTH OF HIS WORD! We have to Trust in HIM, prepare our hearts, seek the LORD, read HIS word and DO IT!

Ezr 7:10, FOR EZRA HAD PREPARED HIS HEART TO SEEK THE LAW OF THE LORD, AND TO DO IT, AND TO TEACH STATUTES AND ORDINANCES IN ISRAEL. 

Psa 37:4-5, DELIGHT YOURSELF ALSO IN THE LORD, AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART. COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD, TRUST ALSO IN HIM, AND HE SHALL BRING IT TO PASS.

Delight, commit and Trust in the LORD and HE will give to you what you’ve desired! YET, WHAT WAS DESIRED WILL BE LIKE RAGS COMPARED TO WHAT HE HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM! BUT THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

1Co 2:9, But as it is written: “EYE HAS NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” 

Psa 37:23-24, THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD, And He delights in his way. THOUGH HE FALL, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

It’s not “IF WE FALL”, we will have trials in this life, but the trials are meant to strengthen our faith in HIM; for HE upholds us!

Psa 37:25, I have been young, and now am old; YET I HAVE NOT SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN, NOR HIS DESCENDANTS BEGGING BREAD.

Psa 37:28, For the LORD LOVES JUSTICE, And DOES NOT FORSAKE HIS SAINTS; They are preserved forever, BUT THE DESCENDANTS OF THE WICKED SHALL BE CUT OFF. 

Since the LORD is a righteous Judge, HE will not let the wicked go without punishment!

Pro 2:22, But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it. 

Time is short and HE is at the door! Seek HIM while HE can be found and do good! You wont regret it!

Psalm 36, the Evil and the Just!

Psa 36:1-2, … the transgression of the wicked: THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE HIS EYES. FOR HE FLATTERS HIMSELF IN HIS OWN EYES, WHEN HE FINDS OUT HIS INIQUITY AND WHEN HE HATES.

The wicked have no concept of sin, to them it’s just normal life! They lie, steal and cheat, yet in their eyes it’s not wrong as long as they don’t get caught!

Psa 36:3-4, The words of his mouth are WICKEDNESS AND DECEIT; He has ceased to be wise and to do good. HE DEVISES WICKEDNESS ON HIS BED; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil

BUT THE LORD SEES AND HEARS ALL! ONE DAY, EVEN IDLE WORDS WILL NEED TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR!

Mat 12:36, And I tell you this, YOU MUST GIVE AN ACCOUNT ON JUDGMENT DAY FOR EVERY IDLE WORD YOU SPEAK. 

The day of the LORD comes with wrath against the inhabitants of this world!

Isa 13:11, “I WILL PUNISH THE WORLD FOR ITS EVIL, AND THE WICKED FOR THEIR INIQUITY; I WILL HALT THE ARROGANCE OF THE PROUD, AND WILL LAY LOW THE HAUGHTINESS OF THE TERRIBLE. 

But the righteous who know their GOD say!

Psa 36:7-9, HOW PRECIOUS IS YOUR LOVINGKINDNESS, O GOD! THEREFORE THE CHILDREN OF MEN PUT THEIR TRUST UNDER THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS. THEY ARE ABUNDANTLY SATISFIED WITH THE FULLNESS OF YOUR HOUSE, AND YOU GIVE THEM DRINK FROM THE RIVER OF YOUR PLEASURES. FOR WITH YOU IS THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE; IN YOUR LIGHT WE SEE LIGHT.

It’s just amazing in my eyes how the LORD can love people? We are all wretched and sinful, YET HE shows HIS love for us? Job said,

Job 7:17, “What is man, that You should exalt him, THAT YOU SHOULD SET YOUR HEART ON HIM, 

IT’S NOT ABOUT MAN, IT’S ABOUT THE LORD! FOR HE IS LOVE, HE IS RIGHTEOUS, HE IS JUST! EVIL MEN WILL GET THEIR JUST REWARD, BUT TO THOSE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD HE WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HIS PRESENCE! HE IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD FOLLOW HIM, SEEK HIM AND PRAISE HIM!

Psalm 10, THE LORD will not see??

Psa 10:1, WHY DO YOU STAND AFAR OFF, O LORD? WHY DO YOU HIDE IN TIMES OF TROUBLE? 

In good times we can easily say, “THE LORD IS GOOD”, BUT, in times of trouble when we FEEL alone we may say, “GOD WHERE ARE YOU”?

Mat 10:29-31, Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And NOT ONE OF THEM FALLS TO THE GROUND APART FROM YOUR FATHER’S WILL. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. DO NOT FEAR THEREFORE; YOU ARE OF MORE VALUE THAN MANY SPARROWS.

WE LIVE BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT OR FEELINGS! IT MAY SEEM HE IS NOT THERE OR DOESN’T CARE, BUT YOU ARE VALUABLE TO HIM! REMEMBER WHO HE SENT FOR YOU!

Psa 10:3-4, For THE WICKED boasts of his heart’s desire; He blesses the greedy and RENOUNCES THE LORD. The wicked in his proud countenance DOES NOT SEEK GOD; GOD IS IN NONE OF HIS THOUGHTS.

The wicked reject any concept or thought of GOD and doesn’t seek HIM; EVEN THOUGH THE EVIDENCE IS OVERWHELMING!

Rom 1:20, For since the creation of the world HIS INVISIBLE ATTRIBUTES ARE CLEARLY SEEN, Being Understood By The Things That Are Made, even His eternal power and Godhead, SO THAT THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE, 

Psa 10:11, 13, HE HAS SAID IN HIS HEART, “GOD HAS FORGOTTEN; He hides His face; HE WILL NEVER SEE.” …. Why do the wicked renounce God? HE HAS SAID IN HIS HEART, “YOU WILL NOT REQUIRE AN ACCOUNT.”

EACH AND EVERY PERSON WILL ONE DAY GIVE AN ACCOUNT FOR THEIR LIVES! WHY DID YOU REJECT MY SON!

Rom 14:12, SO THEN EACH OF US SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF TO GOD.

Ecc 11:9, REJOICE, O YOUNG MAN, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; BUT KNOW THAT FOR ALL THESE GOD WILL BRING YOU INTO JUDGMENT. 

THE SCARIEST WORDS IN ALL OF SCRIPTURE!

Mat 7:23, And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS!’

Job 18, the end of the wicked!

Job 18:1-3, Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said: “How long till you put an end to words? Gain understanding, and afterward we will speak. Why are we counted as beasts, And regarded as stupid in your sight?

Job and his, so called, friends are getting tired of the arguments! Job stands firm on his innocents while the other 3 condemn him of sin! BEAST ARE IGNORANT AND FOOLISH TO THE WAYS OF GOD!

Psa 73:22, I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. 

Job 18:5-7, “The light of the wicked indeed goes out, And the flame of his fire does not shine. The light is dark in his tent, And his lamp beside him is put out. THE STEPS OF HIS STRENGTH ARE SHORTENED, AND HIS OWN COUNSEL CASTS HIM DOWN.

Bildad is saying, “THE WICKED ARE CUT OFF QUICKLY ON THE EARTH. LOOK AT YOURSELF; CAN’T YOU SEE YOU ARE BEING CUT OFF”?

Pro 13:9, The light of the righteous rejoices, But the lamp of the wicked will be put out. 

But, this is not always true, sometimes the wicked live longer and better than those who live righteously!

Psa 73:2-5, But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped. FOR I WAS ENVIOUS OF THE BOASTFUL, WHEN I SAW THE PROSPERITY OF THE WICKED. FOR THERE ARE NO PANGS IN THEIR DEATH, BUT THEIR STRENGTH IS FIRM. THEY ARE NOT IN TROUBLE AS OTHER MEN, NOR ARE THEY PLAGUED LIKE OTHER MEN.

Most people live their lives only looking at the here and now! These people don’t realize that they will live forever! EITHER WITH HIM OR WITHOUT HIM!

Asaph finally understood the end of the wicked when he entered the house of the LORD!

Psa 73:17, Until I went into the sanctuary of God; THEN I UNDERSTOOD THEIR END. 

Psa 37:10-11, FOR YET A LITTLE WHILE AND THE WICKED SHALL BE NO MORE; INDEED, YOU WILL LOOK CAREFULLY FOR HIS PLACE, BUT IT SHALL BE NO MORE. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Ezra 9, knowledge of GOD!

Ezr 9:1-2,  … the leaders came to me, saying, “THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND THE PRIESTS AND THE LEVITES HAVE NOT SEPARATED THEMSELVES FROM THE PEOPLES OF THE LANDS, with respect to the abominations… For they have taken SOME OF THEIR DAUGHTERS AS WIVES FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR SONS, SO THAT THE HOLY SEED IS MIXED with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, THE HAND OF THE LEADERS AND RULERS HAS BEEN FOREMOST IN THIS TRESPASS.” 

Israel just came back from captivity only to find out that the people as well as the leaders have taken foreign wives! This is clearly an offense to the LORD in Deu 7:3-4

2Co 6:14, Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 

This is why Solomon’s heart turned from following the LORD! THE LORD SEEKS A GODLY OFFSPRING NOT A DIVIDED HOME!

Mal 2:15, BUT DID HE NOT MAKE THEM ONE, HAVING A REMNANT OF THE SPIRIT? AND WHY ONE? HE SEEKS GODLY OFFSPRING.

Ezr 9:3-4, So when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked out some of the hair of my head and beard, and SAT DOWN ASTONISHED. THEN EVERYONE WHO TREMBLED AT THE WORDS OF THE GOD OF ISRAEL ASSEMBLED TO ME, …

The people trembled! This is a good sign for the FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF UNDERSTANDING & WISDOM, Pro 1:7, 9:10

MOST PEOPLE CALL THEMSELVES GOOD SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DON’T BOTHER TO READ THE BIBLE! THEY USE THEIR STANDARD TO DEFINE GOOD, BUT THIS LEADS TO DESTRUCTIONS!

Hos 4:6, MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. BECAUSE YOU HAVE REJECTED KNOWLEDGE, I ALSO WILL REJECT YOU from being priest for Me; BECAUSE YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF YOUR GOD, I ALSO WILL FORGET YOUR CHILDREN.

2Chronicles 36, the day of the LORD!

In this chapter 4 kings reigned, Jehoahaz was taken to Egypt. Jehoiakim was taken to Babylon. Jehoiachin was also taken to Babylon; leaving Zedekiah who did evil in the sight of the LORD!

2Ch 36:13-14, And he also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear an oath by God; BUT HE STIFFENED HIS NECK AND HARDENED HIS HEART AGAINST TURNING TO THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL. Moreover ALL THE LEADERS OF THE PRIESTS AND THE PEOPLE transgressed more and more, according to all the abominations of the nations, and defiled the house of the LORD ….

Everyone rebelled against the LORD

2Ch 36:15-16, And the LORD God of their fathers SENT WARNINGS TO THEM BY HIS MESSENGERS, …BECAUSE HE HAD COMPASSION ON HIS PEOPLE AND ON HIS DWELLING PLACE. BUT THEY MOCKED the messengers of God, DESPISED HIS WORDS, and SCOFFED AT HIS PROPHETS, UNTIL THE WRATH OF THE LORD AROSE AGAINST HIS PEOPLE, TILL THERE WAS NO REMEDY.

THEY REJECTED THE LORDS WARNINGS!

2Pe 3:9b, …BUT IS LONGSUFFERING TOWARD US, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE

TODAY, SO MANY PEOPLE MOCK THE WORD OF GOD, THEY REJECT THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION WHICH COST HIM EVERYTHING.

Joh 10:11, “I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD. THE GOOD SHEPHERD GIVES HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP.

YET THE DAY OF THE LORD IS COMING AND THERE IS NO REMEMDY FOR IT!

Isa 13:9-11, BEHOLD, THE DAY OF THE LORD COMES, CRUEL, WITH BOTH WRATH AND FIERCE ANGER, TO LAY THE LAND DESOLATE; AND HE WILL DESTROY ITS SINNERS FROM IT. For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine. “I WILL PUNISH THE WORLD FOR ITS EVIL, AND THE WICKED FOR THEIR INIQUITY; I WILL HALT THE ARROGANCE OF THE PROUD, AND WILL LAY LOW THE HAUGHTINESS OF THE TERRIBLE.

HE IS ALWAYS LISTENING TO US, REPENT NOW FOR HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS. HIS WARTH IS COMING BE PREPARED FOR HE IS NEAR!

2Chrnicles 34, the coming judgement!

2Ch 34:1-3, Josiah was eight years old when he became king, … And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of his father David; HE DID NOT TURN ASIDE TO THE RIGHT HAND OR TO THE LEFT…. while he was still young, HE BEGAN TO SEEK THE GOD OF HIS FATHER DAVID; and in the twelfth year HE BEGAN TO PURGE JUDAH

A Prophesied coming king by name of Josiah

1Ki 13:2, …Thus says the LORD: ‘BEHOLD, A CHILD, JOSIAH BY NAME, SHALL BE BORN TO THE HOUSE OF DAVID…

Josiah cleansed the land of Judah and Israel from their abominations, Idols, alters, he also burned the wicked priest of Baal! Josiah also repaired the house of the LORD!

2Ch 34:14, Now when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest FOUND THE BOOK OF THE LAW OF THE LORD GIVEN BY MOSES. 

THEY LOST THE BOOK OF THE LAW IN THE HOUSE OF GOD? There are many churches today that teach the wisdom of men rather than the word of GOD! They are motivational speakers who like to tickle your ear and make you feel good, but in reality the word of GOD is lost in those churches!

2Ti 4:3-4, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

They read the book in front of king Josiah!

2Ch 34:19, Thus it happened, when the king heard the words of the Law, that he tore his clothes. 

For years they lived their lives without the word of GOD, yet when they read it Josiah knew the coming judgement on the land of Israel!  SO MANY PEOPLE TODAY LIVES IN IGNORANCE OF HIS WORD. THEY CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS OR BELIEVERS YET THEY LIVE FOR THEIR OWN PLEASURES; NOT REALIZING JUDGEMENT IS COMING TO THE WORLD, AND IT’S NEAR!

1Co 15:34, AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND DO NOT SIN; FOR SOME DO NOT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. I SPEAK THIS TO YOUR SHAME.
