Psalm 2, the foolish rage!!

Psa 2:1-3, WHY DO THE NATIONS RAGE, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS ANOINTED, saying, “LET US BREAK THEIR BONDS IN PIECES AND CAST AWAY THEIR CORDS FROM US.”

The LORD is a bondage-breaker, YET to the unbeliever HIS word, HIS laws, HIS guidance is nothing but a burden to them! “WE WANT IT OUR WAY NOT YOURS! LEAVE US ALONE!”

Psa 2:4-6, HE WHO SITS IN THE HEAVENS SHALL LAUGH; The LORD shall hold them in derision. THEN HE SHALL SPEAK TO THEM IN HIS WRATH, And distress them in His deep displeasure: “YET I HAVE SET MY KING ON MY HOLY HILL OF ZION.”

Like ants plotting to destroy an elephant, the elephant will just laugh! The LORD will speak to these men in HIS wrath and tell them about HIS SON! Christ the LORD! THEIR ONLY HOPE!

Luk 9:35, AND A VOICE CAME OUT OF THE CLOUD, SAYING, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON. HEAR HIM!” 

Psa 2:10-12, Now therefore, BE WISE, O KINGS; BE INSTRUCTED, YOU JUDGES OF THE EARTH. Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling. KISS THE SON, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. BLESSED ARE ALL THOSE WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN HIM.

Hos 14:9, Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. FOR THE WAYS OF THE LORD ARE RIGHT; THE RIGHTEOUS WALK IN THEM, BUT TRANSGRESSORS STUMBLE IN THEM. 

SUBMITTING YOURSELF TO THE CHRIST JESUS IS BY FAR THE WISES THING ANY MAN CAN DO! FOR THIS WORLD IS PASSING AWAY, BUT IN HIM WE SHALL LIVE FOREVER!

1Jn 2:17, … the world is passing away, and the lust of it; BUT HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF GOD ABIDES FOREVER. 

Pro 16:20, HE WHO HEEDS THE WORD WISELY WILL FIND GOOD, AND WHOEVER TRUSTS IN THE LORD, HAPPY IS HE.

Job 41, The Serpent satan!

Job 41:1-3, “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook? Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak softly to you?

While some believe the Leviathan to be a crocodile, I BELIEVE IT TO BE A DRAGON-LIKE DINOSAUR which can’t be tamed!

Job 41:10, No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. WHO THEN IS ABLE TO STAND AGAINST ME? 

If man isn’t able to stand against this mighty beast WHAT HOPE DO WE HAVE TO STAND AGAINST THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH?

Job 41:11, WHO HAS PRECEDED ME, THAT I SHOULD PAY HIM? EVERYTHING UNDER HEAVEN IS MINE. 

Everything seen and unseen are HIS! For HE created all things! Col 1:16

Isa 44:24, THUS SAYS THE LORD, YOUR REDEEMER, AND HE WHO FORMED YOU FROM THE WOMB: “I AM THE LORD, WHO MAKES ALL THINGS, WHO STRETCHES OUT THE HEAVENS ALL ALONE, WHO SPREADS ABROAD THE EARTH BY MYSELF; 

Job 41:33-34, ON EARTH THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HIM, Which is made without fear. He beholds every high thing; HE IS KING OVER ALL THE CHILDREN OF PRIDE.”

STILL DESCRIBING LEVIATHAN, BUT GOD IS COMPARING IT TO SATAN HIS OTHER CREATION!

Eze 28:14-15, “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, TILL INIQUITY WAS FOUND IN YOU.

GOD IS TELLING JOB, WITHOUT HIM WE CAN’T STAND AGAINST THE LEVIATHAN NOR THE SERPENT SATAN!

Eph 6:11, PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL.

Deu 31:6, BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, DO NOT FEAR NOR BE AFRAID OF THEM; FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD, HE IS THE ONE WHO GOES WITH YOU. HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.

Job 40, GOD answers Job!

Job 40:1-2, Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said: “SHALL THE ONE WHO CONTENDS WITH THE ALMIGHTY CORRECT HIM? HE WHO REBUKES GOD, LET HIM ANSWER IT.”

GOD taught Job and the others about HIS knowledge, wisdom and glory in chapters 38-39, In order to tell Job, “I KNOW WHAT I’M DOING JOB! EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE SUFFERING NOW, YET YOUR SUFFERING WILL TEACH OTHERS!

Isa 55:8-9, “FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, NOR ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS,” says the LORD. “FOR AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS, AND MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS.

Job 40:3-5, THEN JOB ANSWERED THE LORD and said: “BEHOLD, I AM VILE; WHAT SHALL I ANSWER YOU? I lay my hand over my mouth. Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; Yes, twice, BUT I WILL PROCEED NO FURTHER.”

JOB KNOWS THAT HE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO HIS MAKER! Before he wanted to question God, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING GOD? THAT IS NOT A GOOD PLAN GOD? ANSWER ME GOD!

Job 31:35, ….OH, THAT THE ALMIGHTY WOULD ANSWER ME…

Isa 64:8, But now, O LORD, YOU ARE OUR FATHER; WE ARE THE CLAY, AND YOU OUR POTTER; AND ALL WE ARE THE WORK OF YOUR HAND. 

Job 40:8-9, “WOULD YOU INDEED ANNUL MY JUDGMENT? WOULD YOU CONDEMN ME THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED? HAVE YOU AN ARM LIKE GOD? OR CAN YOU THUNDER WITH A VOICE LIKE HIS?

Rom 8:28, AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, TO THOSE WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. 

THIS VERSE APPLIES ONLY TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD OR ARE CALLED FOR HIS PURPOSE! GOD KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING EVEN THOUGH YOUR SITUATION MAY LOOK CHAOTIC; TRUST IN HIM! HE REFINES US LIKE GOLD IN A FURNACE, THE IMPURITIES COME FLOWING TO THE TOP AND HE WIPES THEM AWAY! TRUST IN THE LORD YOUR MAKER; HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT BEYOND ARE UNDERSTANDING!

Job 29, waiting on the LORD!

Job 29:2-3, “Oh, that I were as in months past, AS IN THE DAYS WHEN GOD WATCHED OVER ME; When His lamp shone upon my head, And WHEN BY HIS LIGHT I WALKED THROUGH DARKNESS;

In Job’s eyes, his greatest lost was the fellowship he had with the LORD! job’s footsteps were guided by the light of his goodness even in times of darkness!

Psa 27:1, … The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

EVEN IN THE DARKEST, SCARIEST MOMENTS IN LIFE, THE LORD IS THERE READY TO HELP!

Heb 13:6, So we may boldly say: “THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?” 

Job 29:12-13, Because I delivered the poor who cried out, The fatherless and the one who had no helper. The blessing of a perishing man came upon me, And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

Job wasn’t greedy with his wealth, he helped the poor, the needy and the widow! GOD used Job to bless others!

Heb 13:16, BUT DO NOT FORGET TO DO GOOD AND TO SHARE, FOR WITH SUCH SACRIFICES GOD IS WELL PLEASED. 

Job 29:21-22, “Men listened to me and waited, And kept silence for my counsel. After my words they did not speak again, And my speech settled on them as dew.

But now people look at him in awe! What happened to this man! What did he do? Even his friends turned on him?

Joh 13:7, Jesus answered…, “WHAT I AM DOING YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND NOW, BUT YOU WILL KNOW AFTER THIS.” 

There are times in our lives when we just don’t understand what is happening, what is GOD doing, why am I going through this? BUT THOSE WHO KNOW THE LORD KNOW THAT HE HAS A PURPOSE FOR IT!  WAIT ON THE LORD!

Rom 8:28, And WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, TO THOSE WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

Job 24, Evil men will have their day!

Job 24:1, “Since times are not hidden from the Almighty, WHY DO THOSE WHO KNOW HIM SEE NOT HIS DAYS? 

Job struggles in understanding why the wicked seem to prosper and the righteous don’t? FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW IT IS HARD, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE, TO UNDERSTAND WHY GOD DOES OR DOESN’T DO SOMETHING? BUT THOSE WHO KNOW HIM KNOWS WILL PLACE THEIR TRUST IN HIM!

Psa 9:10, AND THOSE WHO KNOW YOUR NAME WILL PUT THEIR TRUST IN YOU; FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE NOT FORSAKEN THOSE WHO SEEK YOU. 

Job 24:2-4, “SOME REMOVE LANDMARKS; THEY SEIZE FLOCKS VIOLENTLY AND FEED ON THEM; THEY DRIVE AWAY THE DONKEY OF THE FATHERLESS; THEY TAKE THE WIDOW’S OX AS A PLEDGE. THEY PUSH THE NEEDY OFF THE ROAD; ALL THE POOR OF THE LAND ARE FORCED TO HIDE.

Job sees these evil men stealing from the poor, from the fatherless and from the widows; Job knows what’s written in HIS word regarding them. BUT JUSTICE DOESN’T SEEM TO COME? GOD SEEMS TO BE SILENT EVEN THOUGH IN HIS WORD THOSE EVIL MEN ARE CURSED?

Deu 27:17, ‘CURSED IS THE ONE WHO MOVES HIS NEIGHBOR’S LANDMARK.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’ 

Deu 10:18, HE ADMINISTERS JUSTICE FOR THE FATHERLESS AND THE WIDOW, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing. 

Job 24:12, The dying groan in the city, And the souls of the wounded cry out; YET GOD DOES NOT CHARGE THEM WITH WRONG. 

Psa 73:17-19, UNTIL I WENT INTO THE SANCTUARY OF GOD; THEN I UNDERSTOOD THEIR END. Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.

THE DAY IS COMING AND IS ALMOST HERE, WHERE THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SEE THEIR BLESSED HOPE, JESUS, FACE TO FACE, BUT THE WICKED WILL HAVE THEIR END!

Isa 3:11, Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Job 21, His ways!

Job 21:1-3, Then Job answered and said: “LISTEN CAREFULLY TO MY SPEECH, AND LET THIS BE YOUR CONSOLATION. Bear with me that I may speak, AND AFTER I HAVE SPOKEN, KEEP MOCKING.

Job’s friends weren’t listening, but he was! Job said, “COMFORT ME BY LISTENING TO ME”!

Job 21:4-5, “As for me, IS MY COMPLAINT AGAINST MAN? … Look at me and be astonished; Put your hand over your mouth.

Job complaint is not against man, BUT AGAINST GOD FOR HE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT GOD WAS DOING! WHY LORD! WHY!

Psa 77:7-8, NLT, HAS THE LORD REJECTED ME FOREVER? WILL HE NEVER AGAIN BE KIND TO ME? IS HIS UNFAILING LOVE GONE FOREVER? HAVE HIS PROMISES PERMANENTLY FAILED?

Job 21:22-23, 25-26, “CAN ANYONE TEACH GOD KNOWLEDGE, Since He judges those on high? ONE DIES IN HIS FULL STRENGTH, Being wholly at ease and secure; … ANOTHER MAN DIES IN THE BITTERNESS OF HIS SOUL, Never having eaten with pleasure. THEY LIE DOWN ALIKE IN THE DUST, AND WORMS COVER THEM.

Job, doesn’t understand GOD’s way! ONE MAN LIVES IN PROSPERIRTY AND IN GOOD HEALTH, YET ANOTHER LIVES IN BITTER POVERTY! WHY?

Isa 55:8-9, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

THE MIND OF MAN IS LIMITED, BUT THE LORD KNOWS ALL! WHO CAN TEACH GOD KNOWLEDGE, OR WHO CAN GIVE GOD COUNCIL? NO ONE CAN!  

Isa 40:13-14, Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding?

WE MAY NOT KNOW THE REASON WHY THINGS HAPPEN TO US, BUT WE CAN KNOW THAT HE IS IN FULL CONTROL! TRUST IN HIM!

Job 1, a view behind the curtains!

Job 1:7-8, And the LORD said to Satan, “FROM WHERE DO YOU COME?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” THEN THE LORD SAID TO SATAN, “HAVE YOU CONSIDERED MY SERVANT JOB, …

1Pe 5:8, BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; BECAUSE YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKS ABOUT LIKE A ROARING LION, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR. 

We need to remember that the LORD is ALL KNOWING ALL SEEING. The LORD knows that Job has entered the mind of satan; THE LORD CAN CLEARLY SEE SATAN’S THOUGHTS!

Job 1:12, And the LORD said to Satan, “BEHOLD, ALL THAT HE HAS IS IN YOUR POWER; ONLY DO NOT LAY A HAND ON HIS PERSON.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

GOD had a hedge of protection around Job and all he had, but now GOD gave him permission to touch the life of HIS servant Job! Satan took his servants, his wealth and killed his kids! He lost everything in a single day!

Job 1:16,19, While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “THE FIRE OF GOD FELL FROM HEAVEN AND BURNED UP THE SHEEP AND THE SERVANTS, … and SUDDENLY A GREAT WIND CAME FROM ACROSS THE WILDERNESS AND STRUCK THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE HOUSE,

By their perspective this was a judgement of GOD; Fire from heaven, a great wind! For us, we are given a view of what was happening in the background! It was allowed by GOD, but the work was carried out by satan!

Job 1:20-22, THEN JOB AROSE, TORE HIS ROBE, AND SHAVED HIS HEAD; AND HE FELL TO THE GROUND AND WORSHIPED. And he said: “NAKED I CAME FROM MY MOTHER’S WOMB, AND NAKED SHALL I RETURN THERE. THE LORD GAVE, AND THE LORD HAS TAKEN AWAY; BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.” IN ALL THIS JOB DID NOT SIN NOR CHARGE GOD WITH WRONG.

Job lost everything, BUT HIS FAITH IN GOD REMAINED STRONG! Not everything that happens to us is from the LORD. We live in a fallen world filled with sinful people; YET OUR EYES SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOCUSED ON THE GOD WHO CAN CHANGE ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! NEVER LOSE YOUR FAITH IN HIM; FOR HE IS FAITHFUL!

Ezra 5, who do you work for?

Ezr 5:1-2, At that time THE PROPHETS HAGGAI AND ZECHARIAH SON OF IDDO PROPHESIED TO THE JEWS IN JUDAH AND JERUSALEM. … Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jehozadak RESPONDED BY STARTING AGAIN TO REBUILD THE TEMPLE OF GOD IN JERUSALEM.

The foundation was laid, yet they were forced to stop! The people had grown comfortable leaving the work of GOD to the side!

Hag 1:4-5, “Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins? … LOOK AT WHAT’S HAPPENING TO YOU!

The Jews were working for themselves, BUT NOT FOR GOD! THEY BUILT HOMES, PLANTED GRAIN, YET DIDN’T PROSPER AT ALL!

Hag 1:6-8, You have planted much BUT HARVEST LITTLE. You eat BUT ARE NOT SATISFIED. You drink BUT ARE STILL THIRSTY. You put on clothes BUT CANNOT KEEP WARM. YOUR WAGES DISAPPEAR AS THOUGH YOU WERE PUTTING THEM IN POCKETS FILLED WITH HOLES! “This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! NOW GO UP INTO THE HILLS, BRING DOWN TIMBER, AND REBUILD MY HOUSE. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, SAYS THE LORD.

Zec 1:3, Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: RETURN TO ME, AND I WILL RETURN TO YOU, SAYS THE LORD OF HEAVEN’S ARMIES.’ 

The work on the temple re-started and both Haggai and Zechariah helped!

Ezr 5:3,5, But Tattenai, governor of the province …, and Shethar-bozenai and their colleagues soon arrived in Jerusalem and asked, “WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO REBUILD THIS TEMPLE AND RESTORE THIS STRUCTURE?” …BUT BECAUSE THEIR GOD WAS WATCHING OVER THEM, the leaders of the JEWS WERE NOT PREVENTED FROM BUILDING until a report was sent to Darius and he returned his decision.

INSTANTLY HOSTILITY TO THE WORK CAME BACK, YET THEY DIDN’T STOP! WE KNOW THAT GOD WATCHES OVER US; WE DON’T WORK FOR THE GOVERNOR, BUT FOR GOD! IT’S TIME WE GET TO WORK AGAIN FOR THE TIME IS SHORT AND MANY SOULS ARE IN NEED OF HIM!

2Chronicles 31, Blessings comes from the LORD!

2Ch 31:3, MOREOVER HE COMMANDED THE PEOPLE WHO DWELT IN JERUSALEM TO CONTRIBUTE SUPPORT FOR THE PRIESTS AND THE LEVITES, THAT THEY MIGHT DEVOTE THEMSELVES TO THE LAW OF THE LORD.

The offering given to the church belongs to the LORD! In fact everything we earn, everything we have, and see comes from the LORD!

Job 41:11, Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine. 

Lev 27:30, And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, IS THE LORD’S. IT IS HOLY TO THE LORD.

Some may say, “I just don’t have or make enough to give to the LORD”? TRUTH ME BE THAT YOU DON’T HAVE BECAUSE YOU DON’T GIVE

Mal 3:8-10, “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ IN TITHES AND OFFERINGS. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, AND TRY ME NOW IN THIS,” Says the LORD of hosts, “IF I WILL NOT OPEN FOR YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN AND POUR OUT FOR YOU SUCH BLESSING THAT THERE WILL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT.

When we put GOD and HIS kingdom first, HE promises to meet our needs! TRY ME NOW ON THIS! REMEMBER HE CAN’T LIE!

Mat 6:33, BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU. 

2Ch 31:21, And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, HE DID IT WITH ALL HIS HEART. SO HE PROSPERED. 

King Hezekiah’s service to the LORD was done with all his heart, and the LORD blessed him! HE IS FAITHFUL AND HE KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED EVEN BEFORE YOU ASK! SEEK HIM AND HIS KINGDOM WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND HE SHALL BLESS YOU MORE THAN YOU IMAGINE!

2Chronicles 25, a Loyal heart!

2Ch 25:1-2, Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king…  AND HE DID WHAT WAS RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, BUT NOT WITH A LOYAL HEART. 

So many people fall into this category; going to church, worshipping the LORD then living like hell the rest of the week! 

2Ch 25:6-8, He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valor from Israel for one hundred talents of silver. BUT A MAN OF GOD CAME TO HIM, SAYING, “O KING, DO NOT LET THE ARMY OF ISRAEL GO WITH YOU, FOR THE LORD IS NOT WITH ISRAEL…But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! EVEN SO, GOD SHALL MAKE YOU FALL BEFORE THE ENEMY; FOR GOD HAS POWER TO HELP AND TO OVERTHROW.” 

It made sense to hire these men for war against Edom, Yet when GOD is with you HE BECOMES YOUR STRENGTH IN BATTLE!

2Ch 25:9, …”But what shall we do about the hundred talents …” And the man of God answered, “THE LORD IS ABLE TO GIVE YOU MUCH MORE THAN THIS.”

IT MAY COST YOU TO BE OBEDIENT, YET IT WILL COST YOU A LOT MORE TO BE DISOBEDIENT TO GOD!

2Ch 25:14, Now it was so, after Amaziah came from the slaughter of the Edomites, THAT HE BROUGHT THE GODS OF THE PEOPLE OF SEIR, SET THEM UP TO BE HIS GODS, AND BOWED DOWN BEFORE THEM AND BURNED INCENSE TO THEM. 

God gave Amaziah a great victory, but he fell into idolatry by bowing himself to false, useless idols; DEAD IDOLS MADE FOR DEAD PEOPLE!

Psa 115:8, THOSE WHO MAKE THEM ARE LIKE THEM; SO IS EVERYONE WHO TRUSTS IN THEM.

TRUSTING IN YOUR POSITION, YOUR MONEY, OR IDOLS RATHER THAN TRUSTING GOD MAKES US SPIRITUALLY DEAD! LIKE THE DEAD WOOD AMAZIAH BOWED DOWN TO! LOYALTY TO THE LORD MAY COST US SOMETHING, YET YOU GAIN EVERYTHING BEING WITH THE LORD!  TRUST IN HIM!
