1Chronicles 16, Praising GOD!

1Ch 16:7, On that day DAVID FIRST DELIVERED THIS PSALM into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD:

David brought the Ark of God into the city of David and they were worshipping the LORD!

And he gave Asaph a Psalm, Actually 2 psalms!

Psalm 105:1-15 and Psalm 96:1-13

1Ch 16:8-9, Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; MAKE KNOWN HIS DEEDS among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; TALK OF ALL HIS WONDROUS WORKS!

We have all experience something in our lives that we know to result had nothing to do with us, but it was the LORD working it out!

1Ch 16:10-11, Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts OF THOSE REJOICE WHO SEEK THE LORD! SEEK THE LORD AND HIS STRENGTH; SEEK HIS FACE EVERMORE!

If we know HIM then we need to seek HIM daily! By reading HIS word, praying for guidance and giving thanks! HE is worthy!

1Ch 16:32-33, Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it. Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the LORD, FOR HE IS COMING TO JUDGE THE EARTH.

The LORD’s Arrival is almost here! HE is at the door! Seek HIM while you can for HE is coming as a thief in the night! BE PREPARED!

1Ch 16:35, And say, “SAVE US, O GOD OF OUR SALVATION; GATHER US TOGETHER…

Act 4:12, Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER!

1Chronicles 14, Giving Credit to HIM!

1Ch 14:2, So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted FOR THE SAKE OF HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL.

David knew that his exaltation was for the benefit of Israel!

1Ki 10:9, Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! BECAUSE THE LORD HAS LOVED ISRAEL FOREVER, THEREFORE HE MADE YOU KING, to do justice and righteousness.”

1Ch 14:11, So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water…

It’s so easy to take credit for a great victory, yet David clearly gives credit to GOD!

Psa 144:1, Blessed be the LORD my Rock, WHO TRAINS MY HANDS FOR WAR, AND MY FINGERS FOR BATTLE

1Ch 14:16-17, SO DAVID DID AS GOD COMMANDED HIM, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer. Then the fame of David went out into all lands, and the LORD BROUGHT THE FEAR OF HIM UPON ALL NATIONS.

There is a blessing when we obey GOD and do what HIS will!

Joh 13:17, IF YOU KNOW THESE THINGS, BLESSED ARE YOU IF YOU DO THEM.

SEEK THE LORD, DO WHAT HE ASKED OF YOU AND GIVE HIM THE GLORYL; FOR IT IS HE THAT HAS GIVING YOU THE ABILITY TO DO IT!

2Kings 23, Josiah the Reformer!

2Ki 23:3, Then the king stood by a pillar and MADE A COVENANT BEFORE THE LORD, TO FOLLOW THE LORD AND TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND HIS TESTIMONIES AND HIS STATUTES, WITH ALL HIS HEART AND ALL HIS SOUL…

In a time of great evil, Josiah lived a godly life! He cleansed house of Judah, removed the high places, he tore down ritual booth of perverted persons in the house of the LORD! Etc..

2Ki 23:25, Now before him there was no king like him, WHO TURNED TO THE LORD WITH ALL HIS HEART, WITH ALL HIS SOUL, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him.

Jer 3:10, And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but in pretense,” says the LORD.

Jeremiah ministered in the days of Josiah, even though Josiah turned to the LORD with all his heart, Judah didn’t!

2Ki 23:26, NEVERTHELESS THE LORD DID NOT TURN FROM THE FIERCENESS OF HIS GREAT WRATH…

Were either influenced by the world or by the LORD! We can not serve two masters! Your either for HIM or against HIM! Choose!

Mat 12:30, HE WHO IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME, AND HE WHO DOES NOT GATHER WITH ME SCATTERS ABROAD.

We live in a time like Josiah’s time; People doing what’s right in their own mind! IS THE WORLD GOING TO INFLUENCE YOU OR ARE YOU GOING TO INFLUENCE THE WORLD?

2Kings 19, Call upon HIS Name!

2Ki 19:1-2, And so it was, when King Hezekiah heard it, THAT HE TORE HIS CLOTHES, COVERED HIMSELF WITH SACKCLOTH, AND WENT INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. Then he sent Eliakim, …TO ISAIAH THE PROPHET, THE SON OF AMOZ.

A great threat has come into the land of Jerusalem and it’s godly king humbled himself before the LORD, entered into HIS courtyard and called on Isaiah!

Psa 46:1, … God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

2Ki 19:6, And Isaiah said to them, “… ‘Thus says the LORD: “Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed ME.

2Ki 19:10,12 , “Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: ‘DO NOT LET YOUR GOD IN WHOM YOU TRUST DECEIVE YOU, saying, “Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.” … HAVE THE GODS OF THE NATIONS DELIVERED THOSE WHOM MY FATHERS HAVE DESTROYED…

The threat continues and his blaspheme against the LORD is increasing! But Hezekiah prayed to the LORD (ver 14-19)

Psa 50:15, Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

When trouble comes our way, it is always wise to humble yourself before the LORD and seek HIS face! for without HIM we are nothing but with HIM we are strong!

Jer 29:12, Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, AND I WILL LISTEN TO YOU.

2Kings 2, faithful to the call!

2Ki 2:2, Then Elijah said to Elisha, “STAY HERE, PLEASE, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “AS THE LORD LIVES, AND AS YOUR SOUL LIVES, I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU!” So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah was testing Elisha if he would stay faithful to the call of GOD by going with him all the way! He told Elijah to “STAY HERE, PLEASE” three times verses 2,4,6 But, he stayed with him!

2Ki 2:9, … when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “ASK! WHAT MAY I DO FOR YOU, BEFORE I AM TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU?” Elisha said, “PLEASE LET A DOUBLE PORTION OF YOUR SPIRIT BE UPON ME.

ELISHA SAW THE POWERFUL MINISTRY OF ELIJAH AND DESIRED A DOUBLE PORTION OF THAT! REMINDS ME OF JESUS WHEN HE WENT UP LEAVING HIS DISCIPLES!  THEY TOO WERE GIVEN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CONTINUE THE WORK OF GOD!

1Co 12:4-5, There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.

THE LORD HAS GIVEN US GIFTS TO BE USED FOR THE GAIN OF HIS KINGDOM, BUT WE MUST RUN THE RACE TO THE END! NOT FOR RICHES, GLORY, POSITION OR ANYTHING ELSE BUT FOR HIS GLORY!

1Ti 5:17, Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

Psa 34:10b, BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD SHALL NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING.

1Kings 8, Dedicating the Temple, Prayer!

1Ki 8:41-42, “Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country FOR YOUR NAME’S SAKE (FOR THEY WILL HEAR OF YOUR GREAT NAME AND YOUR STRONG HAND AND YOUR OUTSTRETCHED ARM), WHEN HE COMES AND PRAYS TOWARD THIS TEMPLE,

Praying towards the Temple of God which many still do today even though the Temple is no longer standing! Gentiles will come to Israel for we know that there is only one GOD

1Ki 8:43, hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and DO ACCORDING TO ALL FOR WHICH THE FOREIGNER CALLS TO YOU, that all peoples of the earth MAY KNOW YOUR NAME AND FEAR YOU, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is CALLED BY YOUR NAME.

Mal 1:11, …MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE GENTILES; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; FOR MY NAME SHALL BE GREAT AMONG THE NATIONS,” Says the LORD of hosts.

1Ki 8:57, May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. MAY HE NOT LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US,

HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US FOR THE GENTILES, WHO ONCE WALKED IN DARKNESS, HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT IN JESUS OUR LORD!

Isa 41:10, Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

1Kings 2, David’s advice to his son!

1Ki 2:2, “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.

Heb 9:27, AND AS IT IS APPOINTED FOR MEN TO DIE ONCE, but after this the JUDGMENT,

1Ki 2:3, And KEEP THE CHARGE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD: to WALK IN HIS WAYS, to KEEP HIS STATUTES, HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS JUDGMENTS, and HIS TESTIMONIES, as it is written in the Law of Moses, THAT YOU MAY PROSPER IN ALL THAT YOU DO AND WHEREVER YOU TURN;

David tells his son Solomon to WALK IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD AS IT IS WRITTEN IN THE LAW OF MOSES! THEN, YOU WILL PROSPER!

1Ki 2:4, that the LORD may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘IF YOUR SONS TAKE HEED TO THEIR WAY, TO WALK BEFORE ME IN TRUTH WITH ALL THEIR HEART AND WITH ALL THEIR SOUL,’ HE SAID, ‘YOU SHALL NOT LACK A MAN ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL.’

IT’S A PROMISE GOD MADE TO DAVID, THAT IF HIS SONS WERE TO WALK IN HIS WAYS THEN THEIR WILL ALWAYS BE A SON OF DAVID ON THE THRONE OF ISRAEL!  WE HAVE A SIMILAR PROMISE OF GOD!

Mat 6:33, BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU.

Pro 27:1, Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

LIVE FOR HIM TODAY AND SEEK HIM DAILY! HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST!
