Psalm 55, betrayed by a friend!

Psa 55:12, For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him.

It hurt David to know that it was a friend who betrayed him! JESUS knew this feeling as well when HE was betrayed by Judas!

Mat 26:21, Now as they were eating, HE said, “ASSUREDLY, I SAY TO YOU, ONE OF YOU WILL BETRAY ME.”

Psa 55:13-14, BUT IT WAS YOU, A MAN MY EQUAL, MY COMPANION AND MY ACQUAINTANCE. WE TOOK SWEET COUNSEL TOGETHER, AND WALKED TO THE HOUSE OF GOD IN THE THRONG.

Spurgeon said, “NONE ARE SUCH REAL ENEMIES AS FALSE FRIENDS”! Judas walked, eat and drank with JESUS for three years, YET betrayed the Creator of heaven and earth for thirty pieces of silver!

Joh 13:18, “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘HE WHO EATS BREAD WITH ME HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.’

Isa 49:15, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? SURELY THEY MAY FORGET, YET I WILL NOT FORGET YOU.

THE LORD WILL NEVER BETRAY NOR FORGET US FOR HE IS ALWAYS BE WITH US!

Psa 55:21, The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, BUT WAR WAS IN HIS HEART; His words were softer than oil, YET THEY WERE DRAWN SWORDS.

IT’S BETTER TO HAVE ENEMY WHO HONESTLY SAYS THEY HATE YOU THAN TO HAVE A FRIEND WHO PUTS YOU DOWN SECRETLY!

Psa 55:23, But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; BUT I WILL TRUST IN YOU.

Place your trust in the GOD of love and mercy for man may deceive you, but the LORD is always faithful! True friends are hard to find, yet will always tell you the truth regardless if it hurts you!

Pro 27:6, Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Psalm 41, Pity on the poor!

Psa 41:1-3, …BLESSED IS HE WHO CONSIDERS THE POOR; THE LORD WILL DELIVER HIM IN TIME OF TROUBLE. The LORD will PRESERVE HIM AND KEEP HIM ALIVE, And HE WILL BE BLESSED ON THE EARTH; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. THE LORD WILL STRENGTHEN HIM ON HIS BED OF ILLNESS; YOU WILL SUSTAIN HIM ON HIS SICKBED.

Poor economically, but can also mean weak or helpless! Either way, this is a promise of GOD; The LORD will repay him for his generosity!

Pro 19:17, HE WHO HAS PITY ON THE POOR LENDS TO THE LORD, AND HE WILL PAY BACK WHAT HE HAS GIVEN.

The LORD doesn’t forget even the smallest thing we do! Even if you give a glass of water in HIS name HE will remember!

Mar 9:41, FOR WHOEVER GIVES YOU A CUP OF WATER TO DRINK IN MY NAME, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, HE WILL BY NO MEANS LOSE HIS REWARD.

Psa 41:9, Even my own familiar FRIEND in whom I TRUSTED, WHO ATE MY BREAD, HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.

David was indeed betrayed by his trusted advisor Ahithophel, and his own son Absalom, but this was fulfilled by Judas when he betrayed JESUS!

Joh 13:18, “I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘HE WHO EATS BREAD WITH ME HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.

Luk 22:21, BUT BEHOLD, THE HAND OF MY BETRAYER IS WITH ME ON THE TABLE.

Psa 41:12-13, As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever. Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.

MEN MAY BETRAY YOU, BUT THE LORD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD AND PROMISES! DAVID DIDN’T FOCUS ON THOSE THAT RETURN EVIL FOR GOOD, BUT HIS FOCUS WAS ALWAYS ON THE LORD!

Psa 118:8, IT IS BETTER TO TRUST IN THE LORD THAN TO PUT CONFIDENCE IN MAN.
