Psalm 142, walking in Darkness!

Psa 142:1-2, …I cry out to the LORD with my voice; With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication. I POUR OUT MY COMPLAINT BEFORE HIM; I DECLARE BEFORE HIM MY TROUBLE.

“Caves make good closets for prayer; their gloom and solitude are helpful to the exercise of devotion. Had David prayed as much in his palace as he did in his cave, he might never have fallen into the act which brought such misery upon his later days.” (Spurgeon)

David brought his complaint to the LORD for HE is his refuge and strength in times of trouble!

Psa 46:1-2, …GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE. THEREFORE WE WILL NOT FEAR…

Psa 142:3, When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, THEN YOU KNEW MY PATH. IN THE WAY IN WHICH I WALK They have secretly set a snare for me.

There are some troubles in life that seem to cripple us, not knowing where to go or what to do. Yet while were overwhelmed and confused, the LORD isn’t! HE knows what to do and HE can guide you if you let HIM!

Pro 3:5-6, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge HIM, AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

Psa 142:7, BRING MY SOUL OUT OF PRISON, That I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

David wasn’t in a prison, but his own soul seemed imprisoned by the circumstances; in the same way sin imprisons our souls. Externally they may seem find, but internally there is a darkness that seems normal, and they don’t realize they are walking in darkness!

Joh 8:12, Then JESUS spoke to them again, saying, “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. HE WHO FOLLOWS ME SHALL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.”

We will have trouble in this world, but those that walk in the light know their GOD, and can see that HE is in full control! HE shall never leave us nor forsake us; for HE is faithful to HIS promises found in scripture! Trust in HIM!

Php 4:6, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
