Psalm 86, Are we Righteous?

Psalm 86:1-2, Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me; ​​FOR I AM POOR AND NEEDY. Preserve my life, FOR I AM HOLY; ​​You are my God; ​​Save Your servant who trusts in You!

A Psalm of David, was he holy before the LORD? This is not a claim of being perfect, but he was set apart from other men to do the work of GOD! The LORD will hear his cry!

Psalm 4:3, But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly; THE LORD WILL HEAR WHEN I CALL TO HIM.

Can we call ourselves righteous before GOD? Scripture says our righteousness is but dirty rags

Isa 64:6, BUT WE ARE ALL LIKE AN UNCLEAN THING, AND ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES ARE LIKE FILTHY RAGS;

Yet, the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous?

1Peter 3:12a, For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers;

When we come to faith in CHRIST JESUS, HIS blood covers us and cleanses us! So, when the FATHER sees us HE sees HIS RIGHTEOUS SON!

Isa 61:10, I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; FOR HE HAS CLOTHED ME WITH THE GARMENTS OF SALVATION, HE HAS COVERED ME WITH THE ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, …

Psa 86:5, FOR YOU, LORD, ARE GOOD, AND READY TO FORGIVE, AND ABUNDANT IN MERCY TO ALL THOSE WHO CALL UPON YOU.

The LORD is good, and merciful to those that come to HIM! Some call HIM the GOD of second chances; more like 10th or 20th etc. chances! 

Matt 18:21-22, Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” JESUS said to him, “I DO NOT SAY TO YOU, UP TO SEVEN TIMES, BUT UP TO SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN.

Peter thought it a lot to forgive his brother seven times, YET the LORD is full of compassion!

Psa 86:15, BUT YOU, O LORD, ARE A GOD FULL OF COMPASSION, AND GRACIOUS, LONGSUFFERING AND ABUNDANT IN MERCY AND TRUTH.

This is the LORD we serve, our loving FATHER who gave to us HIS only SON, JESUS, who gave all to save the lost!  THANK YOU LORD!

Psalm 14, All have sinned!

Psa 14:1, …THE FOOL HAS SAID IN HIS HEART,”THERE IS NO GOD.” THEY ARE CORRUPT, THEY HAVE DONE ABOMINABLE WORKS, THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD. 

About a month before my father passed, I asked him if he believed in GOD? He told me “ONE DAY I WAS SITING OUTSIDE LOOKING AT THE TREES, THE BIRDS, THE SKY, JUST EVERYTHING AROUND ME; THIS CAN’T JUST BE AN ACCIDENT”!

Rom 1:20, For since the creation of the world HIS INVISIBLE ATTRIBUTES ARE CLEARLY SEEN, BEING UNDERSTOOD BY THE THINGS THAT ARE MADE, EVEN HIS ETERNAL POWER AND GODHEAD, SO THAT THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE,

My dad clearly saw the CREATOR through HIS creation! THERE IS NO EXCUSE, BUT THAT IS WHY DAVID CALLED THEM FOOLS!

Psa 14:2-3, THE LORD LOOKS DOWN FROM HEAVEN UPON THE CHILDREN OF MEN, TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY WHO UNDERSTAND, WHO SEEK GOD. They have ALL turned aside, They have together become corrupt; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, NO, NOT ONE.

Rom 3:23, FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD, 

ALL, EVEN BELIEVERS IN GOD, ALL HAVE CORRUPTED THEMSELVES, ALL HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD!

Gal 3:22, BUT THE SCRIPTURE HAS CONFINED ALL UNDER SIN, THAT THE PROMISE BY FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST MIGHT BE GIVEN TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE. 

GET OVER YOURSELF; YOUR NOT PERFECT, BUT HE IS! DO YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS?

Psa 14:7, OH, THAT THE SALVATION OF ISRAEL WOULD COME OUT OF ZION! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

Isa 59:20, “THE REDEEMER WILL COME TO ZION, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the LORD. 

Psa 50:2, Out of Zion, THE PERFECTION OF BEAUTY, GOD WILL SHINE FORTH.  JESUS, THE REDEEMER, DID COME TO JERUSALEM AND HE IS COMING BACK AGAIN! BE READY! HE IS AT THE DOOR!

Psalm 1, our choice in life!

Psa 1:1, BLESSED IS THE MAN Who walks NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, NOR stands in the path of sinners, NOR sits in the seat of the scornful;

We all have a choice in life whether to walk in the ways of man or in the way of GOD! There are only two paths to take! Choose wisely!

Pro 14:12, THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN, BUT ITS END IS THE WAY OF DEATH.

Psa 1:2, BUT HIS DELIGHT IS IN THE LAW OF THE LORD, AND IN HIS LAW HE MEDITATES DAY AND NIGHT.

WE HAVE ALL HEARD THIS SAYING “LIFE IS SHORT, SO ENJOY IT”, BUT THE LORD SAYS “ETERNITY IS LONG PREPARE FOR IT”! GET TO KNOW YOUR CREATOR; FOR IN KNOWING HIM COMES TRUE PROSPERITY!

Jos 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. FOR THEN YOU WILL MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS, AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE GOOD SUCCESS. 

Psa 1:3, HE SHALL BE LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY THE RIVERS OF WATER, THAT BRINGS FORTH ITS FRUIT IN ITS SEASON, WHOSE LEAF ALSO SHALL NOT WITHER; AND WHATEVER HE DOES SHALL PROSPER.

Psa 92:12, THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH LIKE A PALM TREE, HE SHALL GROW LIKE A CEDAR IN LEBANON. 

As Christians we know that were sinners saved by grace; calling us righteous makes no sense! BUT IN HIS EYES WE ARE! HE HAS WASHED US FROM OUR IMPURITIES AND CLOTHED US WITH HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS NOT OURS!

Isa 61:10  I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; FOR HE HAS CLOTHED ME WITH THE GARMENTS OF SALVATION, HE HAS COVERED ME WITH THE ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO LIFE AND IT’S FOUND IN OUR LORD AND SAVIOR CHRIST JESUS! CHOOSE WISELY!

Job 20, In HIS eyes!

Job 20:1,4-5, Then Zophar… answered and said: … “DO YOU NOT KNOW THIS OF OLD, SINCE MAN WAS PLACED ON EARTH, THAT THE TRIUMPHING OF THE WICKED IS SHORT, AND THE JOY OF THE HYPOCRITE IS BUT FOR A MOMENT?

Job asked for pity from his friends, yet Zophar increases his attack! NOW HE IS CALLING JOB A HYPOCRITE AND A WICKED MAN, BUT GOD KNOWS WHO JOB IS! THE LORD KNOWS HIS OWN, AND HIS OWN KNOWS HIM!

Job 1:1, There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was JOB; AND THAT MAN WAS BLAMELESS AND UPRIGHT, AND ONE WHO FEARED GOD AND SHUNNED EVIL. 

Joh 10:14, I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD; AND I KNOW MY SHEEP, AND AM KNOWN BY MY OWN.

Job 20:26-29, TOTAL DARKNESS IS RESERVED FOR HIS TREASURES. AN UNFANNED FIRE WILL CONSUME HIM; It shall go ill with him who is left in his tent. THE HEAVENS WILL REVEAL HIS INIQUITY, … The increase of his house will depart, And his goods will flow away in the day of His wrath. THIS IS THE PORTION FROM GOD FOR A WICKED MAN, THE HERITAGE APPOINTED TO HIM BY GOD.”

Zophar is speaking truth, the wicked will inherit darkness and will be consumed with fire, YET I DOES NOT APPLY TO JOB!

Psa 11:5-7, The LORD tests the righteous, BUT THE WICKED AND THE ONE WHO LOVES VIOLENCE HIS SOUL HATES. UPON THE WICKED HE WILL RAIN COALS; FIRE AND BRIMSTONE AND A BURNING WIND SHALL BE THE PORTION OF THEIR CUP. For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

This is the last thing said by Zophar! In his eyes Job is an un-repented wicked hypocrite, YET THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHAT THE LORD THINKS OF US!

1Cor 4:3-4, But with me it is a VERY SMALL THING THAT I SHOULD BE JUDGED BY YOU OR BY A HUMAN COURT. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; BUT HE WHO JUDGES ME IS THE LORD.

Job 10, Judging ourselves!

Job 10:2, I WILL SAY TO GOD, ‘DO NOT CONDEMN ME; SHOW ME WHY YOU CONTEND WITH ME.

WHY? Why is this happening to me? What have I done to deserve this? THIS IS ALWAYS GOOD TO DO! RATHER THAN BLAMING OTHERS FOR OUR SITUATION, TAKE A LOOK INSIDE AND JUDGE YOURSELF, AND CHANGE THAT WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED! I WOULD RATHER JUDGE MYSELF THAN BE CONDEMNED WITH THE WORLD BY THE LORD!

1Cor 11:31-32, FOR IF WE WOULD JUDGE OURSELVES, WE WOULD NOT BE JUDGED. BUT WHEN WE ARE JUDGED, WE ARE CHASTENED BY THE LORD, THAT WE MAY NOT BE CONDEMNED WITH THE WORLD.

Job 10:3-4, Does it seem good to You that You should oppress, THAT YOU SHOULD DESPISE THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS, And smile on the counsel of the wicked? DO YOU HAVE EYES OF FLESH? OR DO YOU SEE AS MAN SEES?

Again, Job blames GOD, because he doesn’t know that it is satan who is causing all of this!

The eyes of the LORD are not limited like ours!

Pro 15:3, THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE IN EVERY PLACE, KEEPING WATCH ON THE EVIL AND THE GOOD. 

Job 10:20-21, Are not my days few? CEASE! LEAVE ME ALONE, that I may take a little comfort, BEFORE I GO TO THE PLACE FROM WHICH I SHALL NOT RETURN, TO THE LAND OF DARKNESS AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH

Psa 39:13, Remove Your gaze from me, that I may regain strength, Before I go away and am no more.”

King David felt the same thing as Job, please leave me alone that I may die in peace! Complete desperation of Job, wanting to die!  BUT, HIS UNDERSTANDING IS WRONG IN LIGHT OF THE SCRIPTURES! FOR THE BELIEVER, DEATH HAS BEEN ABOLISHED BY THE LORD JESUS! LIFE DOESN’T END WHEN WE DIE HERE ON EARTH! IT’S JUST THE START!

2Ti 1:10, BUT HAS NOW BEEN REVEALED BY THE APPEARING OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, WHO HAS ABOLISHED DEATH AND BROUGHT LIFE AND IMMORTALITY TO LIGHT THROUGH THE GOSPEL,

2Kings 25, The Fall of Judah!

2Ki 25:7, THEN THEY KILLED THE SONS OF ZEDEKIAH BEFORE HIS EYES, PUT OUT THE EYES OF ZEDEKIAH, BOUND HIM WITH BRONZE FETTERS, AND TOOK HIM TO BABYLON.

Judgement has fallen on Judah like it did to the northern tribes of Israel! Zedekiah is caught in the LORD’s net!

Eze 12:13,15, I will also spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare. I WILL BRING HIM TO BABYLON, TO THE LAND OF THE CHALDEANS; YET HE SHALL NOT SEE IT, THOUGH HE SHALL DIE THERE. …”THEN THEY SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD…

2Ki 25:9-10, HE BURNED THE HOUSE OF THE LORD AND THE KING’S HOUSE; all the houses of Jerusalem, that is, all the houses of the great, he burned with fire…. BROKE DOWN THE WALLS OF JERUSALEM ALL AROUND.

Isa 64:11, OUR HOLY AND BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE, WHERE OUR FATHERS PRAISED YOU, IS BURNED UP WITH FIRE; AND ALL OUR PLEASANT THINGS ARE LAID WASTE.

The beautiful Temple that Solomon built for the LORD lasted a little over 400 years.  With men nothing beautiful last; The Garden of Eden was perfect, until man was left in charge and sin entered their hearts! 

Psa 14:2-3, The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, WHO SEEK GOD. THEY HAVE ALL TURNED ASIDE, THEY HAVE TOGETHER BECOME CORRUPT; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, NO, NOT ONE.

YET, THE LORD GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR OUR SINS THAT WE MAY ONE DAY BECOME SONS OF THE LIVING GOD!

2Kings 24, Judgement!

2Ki 24:3-4, Surely at the commandment of the LORD this came upon Judah, to remove them from HIS SIGHT BECAUSE OF THE SINS OF MANASSEH, according to all that he had done, and also BECAUSE OF THE INNOCENT BLOOD THAT HE HAD SHED; FOR HE HAD FILLED JERUSALEM WITH INNOCENT BLOOD, WHICH THE LORD WOULD NOT PARDON.

The Lord warned Israel about shedding innocent blood in the land!

Deu 19:10, LEST INNOCENT BLOOD BE SHED IN THE MIDST OF YOUR LAND which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and THUS GUILT OF BLOODSHED BE UPON YOU. 

Pro 6:16-19, THESE SIX THINGS THE LORD HATES, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

How much innocent blood has our country shed, abortion, in the name of women’s rights?

Pro 17:15, HE WHO JUSTIFIES THE WICKED, and HE WHO CONDEMNS THE JUST, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.

2Ki 24:20, …HE FINALLY CAST THEM OUT FROM HIS PRESENCE. …

The scariest phrase found in scripture “I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME”! DON’T BE DECIEVED; HE SEES ALL AND KNOWS ALL!

Job 34:21, “FOR HIS EYES ARE ON THE WAYS OF MAN, AND HE SEES ALL HIS STEPS.
