Psalm 56, in times of fear!

Psa 56:1-2, …BE MERCIFUL TO ME, O GOD, for man would swallow me up; Fighting all day he oppresses me. My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.

David, running from Saul, goes into the camp of philistines, his enemy, carrying Goliath’s sword whom he killed! David went from bad to worst and was captured by them.  So, he pretended to be mad to escape!

1Sa 21:14, Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you see the man is insane. Why have you brought him to me?

Psa 56:3-4, WHENEVER I AM AFRAID, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN FLESH DO TO ME?

Surrounded by his enemies David was afraid, but he sought a greater faith in GOD in order to declare “I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN FLESH DO TO ME IF THE LORD IS WITH ME!

Jer 1:19, THEY WILL FIGHT AGAINST YOU, BUT THEY SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST YOU. FOR I AM WITH YOU,” SAYS THE LORD, “TO DELIVER YOU.”

Psa 56:12-13, VOWS MADE TO YOU ARE BINDING UPON ME, O GOD; I WILL RENDER PRAISES TO YOU, FOR YOU HAVE DELIVERED MY SOUL FROM DEATH. HAVE YOU NOT KEPT MY FEET FROM FALLING, THAT I MAY WALK BEFORE GOD IN THE LIGHT OF THE LIVING?

David vowed to give HIM praise and offer the proper sacrifices when he got back to Jerusalem! it was set in his heart! Solomon said “DON’T LET YOUR MOUTH CAUSE YOUR FLESH TO SIN” in regards to vows!

Ecc 5:4-5, WHEN YOU MAKE A VOW TO GOD, DO NOT DELAY TO PAY IT; For He has no pleasure in fools. PAY WHAT YOU HAVE VOWED— BETTER NOT TO VOW THAN TO VOW AND NOT PAY.

IT’S BEST NOT TO VOW, BUT IF YOU DO THEN REMEMBER TO KEEP IT EVEN IF IT HURTS YOU.

Psa 15:4b  …,BUT HE HONORS THOSE WHO FEAR THE LORD; HE WHO SWEARS TO HIS OWN HURT AND DOES NOT CHANGE;

In times of fear strengthen yourself in the LORD and know that HE is always there! Keep you vows FOR THE LORD IS FAITHFUL AND ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES!
